OBT Crash Leaves 2 Dead, 1 Driver in Serious Condition


Two Orlando men were killed following a two-car crash on Orange Blossom Trail near 42nd Street, on Thursday evening.

The crash occurred just before 8:00 p.m.

Florida Highway Patrol said, a 2004 Ford vehicle was traveling southbound on Orange Blossom Trial, when the driver lost control and traveled into the northbound lanes.

A 2000 Chrysler van, driven by Karen Abramowitz, 53, of Orlando, traveling northbound, struck the right side of the Ford vehicle.

The unnamed driver and passenger, both males, in the Ford vehicle were taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Troopers are still trying to determine who was driving the vehicle. The deceased men were 23 and 29-years-old.

Abramowitz was taken to ORMC with serious injuries.

Troopers said, debris from the crash struck a 2010 Kia that was also traveling north on OBT, behind Abramowitz’s vehicle.

30-year-old Joshua Dubbs, of Apopka was the driver of the Kia. He suffered no injuries.

Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation.
