President Barack Obama was introduced at a White House ceremony Thursday, commemorating Pride Month, by two third-grade children.
Zea and Luna, nine-year-old twins, read appeals from a letter that they apparently sent to the president last December. Among the other subjects they discussed in it was gun violence, increased funding for schools and — same-sex marriage.
“We asked the president for his support for gay marriage, because we have two moms and they are just as good as other parents,” Zea said. “They love us a lot.”
