Obama, Biden for Tampa, and Crist?

President Barack Obama is expected to be in Tampa on Thursday, the day after he delivers his first State-of-the Union Address to the nation on Wednesday, January 27th at 8:00 pm.

Obama will be accompanied by Vice President Joe Biden and it is widely believed that the president would make an announcement regarding federal funding for Florida for high speed rail.

Obama and Biden will host a town hall meeting at the Bob Martinez Sports Center, University of Tampa, where it is expected that major themes highlighted by the president the night before, would be reinforced.

The president has said that his top priority for 2010 is creating jobs. With unemployment currently at 11.8 percent, the more than one million Floridians out of work would easily identify with such a message.

There is no telling at this point whether Governor Charlie Crist, who is now trailing his rival Marco Rubio for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate, would appear with Obama and Biden in Tampa.
