The Senate Criminal Justice Committee on Tuesday will hear a measure (SB 92) that would prohibit police agencies from using remote control unmanned aircraft – or drones – to take pictures.
The bill is sponsored by Sen. Joe Negron, R-Stuart, who has said he is concerned about giving police additional ability to spy on law abiding citizens without a warrant.
Committees in both chambers will meet next week, with some committees hearing the first bills of the new legislative year.
