Respected and well-known Chicago and Central Florida attorney Dan Newlin is breaking away from a leading personal injury law firm, Morgan & Morgan to form a new law firm.
Newlin rocked the Central Florida Injury Lawyer Legal Community, announcing the split from Morgan and Morgan on Thursday, saying he is opening a “Powerhouse Law Firm.” He will be joined by two local heavy hitters, John Daly, a 23-year Insurance Defense Lawyer and Jane Clark, a 28-year trial attorney. Newlin also takes to his new law firm, two state prosecutors. Newlin also has been handling personal injury and workers compensation matters in Chicago, with Attorney Anthony G. Argeros and he plans to continue to grow his Illinois presence over the next five years.
Confidential sources from within Morgan have shared that, Newlin was approximately 30 percent of the firm central offices’ revenues, collecting millions for his clients, on whose behalf he was a strong advocate.
Although Newlin declined to talk with any specificity about his revenue collections, it is estimated that he raked in over $10 million in 2011 and a similar figure last year.
Newlin said, he is committed to continuing to provide excellent service through personal, professional and experienced legal representation and this remains his number one goal.
Since his departure from Morgan, he has already been retained in a recent high-profile drunk-driver case, which resulted in the tragic death of a husband and father, that left behind a devoted wife and 17-year-old son.
“I take such cases very seriously and it is a great honor to be helping this family through such a difficult time,” Newlin declared. “I am a passionate and strong advocate for accident and injury victims and will continue to offer these services at my new firm, The Law Offices of Dan Newlin, even better than before.”
Newlin said, upon his resigning from Morgan, he and John Morgan (who has offices throughout the United States) shared a 5-hour dinner during which the two reminisced over his last 10 years at the firm. At the end of it, we both shook hands, hugged and wished each other well, Newlin said. He expects both firms to continue to have a long-lasting friendship.
Newlin and Morgan are co-hosting President Barack Obama, when he visits Orlando next week for a fund-raiser and to push his ‘American Jobs Act.’
As one close confidant of the two men said, “It appears the two injury guerrillas are already finding powerful ways to work together for the common good.”
Hmmm. Jane Clark is a good lawyer but does Newlin know his way to the real courthouse????
I wish you all much success in this launch, Dan has recovered his clients millions and has been an active citizen in his community.
These are great news, indeed. The city of orlando was waiting for this moment a long time ago! Big difference ALL AROUND.
CONGRATULATIONS DAN, AND ALSO TO YOUR WONDERFUL STAFF.
