New Year’s Eve DUI Operation Results in Hillsborough County

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office conducted a multi-agency joint operation to prevent impaired driving on December 31, 2024.

During the operation, HCSO deputies, along with the Tampa Police Department and Florida Highway Patrol, conducted traffic stops and targeted drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs.

The Sheriff’s office released the following operation results:

  • DUI Arrests: 23
  • Traffic Stops: 139
  • Citations: 16
  • Warnings: 121

Their efforts led to significant enforcement results, contributing to a safer New Year’s Eve in Central Florida, according to local law enforcement.

“The holiday season is a time for celebration, but it’s also a time when the risk of impaired driving increases significantly. By partnering with our fellow law enforcement agencies, we were able to send a strong message that driving under the influence is not only dangerous but completely unacceptable,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This collaborative effort not only held offenders accountable but also served as a reminder to everyone in our community to make responsible decisions and prioritize safety. Together, we’re working to save lives and prevent tragedies before they happen.”
