New Program Helps College Bound Student Athletes Reach NCAA Division 1 Goals

Path2d1, Inc., the Central Florida community resource on the forefront of transitioning high school student athletes into NCAA Division 1 college level players, will hold its Central Florida High School Sports Seminar & Expo, Saturday, August 27, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., at Edgewater High School located at 3100 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, Florida.

“We designed this program for college bound student athletes and their families,” states Aubrey Perry, President and CEO, Path2d1, Inc.  “With former college and professional coaches and athletes participating on panel discussions, this event will provide the roadmap to navigate students toward success on the field of play, in the classroom, and in life.”  Moderated panels will cover issues related to: achieving NCAA Division 1 eligibility, athletic scholarship requirements, amateurism and attitude, and resources available to help ensure academic success.

Confirmed panelists include: “Doc” Rivers, former head coach of Orlando Magic and head coach for Boston Celtics- 2008 NBA Champions; Fred Stokes, former NFL player and founder of the Fred Stokes Youth Ranch; Brian Pederson, former USL Premier Development League player and director of Camps & Clinics for Orlando City Soccer; Joe Logan, former Major League Baseball player and coach and trainer for Orlando Reds Baseball Amateur Club; David Davis, former college football player and head girls golf coach and boys basketball coach at Trinity Prep; and E.J. Burt, former Orlando Predators Arena Football League player and teacher, defensive line, and weightlifting coach at University High School.

The Central Florida High School Sports Seminar & Expo is free to the general public.  High school athletes and parents or legal guardians are encouraged to attend to learn more about overcoming obstacles that would impede collegiate success.
