A new Executive Director of the Parramore Main Street in Orlando was recently named.
Kenneth Hughes is a second-generation business owner, real estate investor, and passionate community leader dedicated to shaping the future of Orlando’s historic Parramore District. As both a business owner and a dedicated advocate for the rejuvenation and growth of his community, Hughes exemplifies the power of blending entrepreneurial spirit with a deep commitment to social responsibility.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Hughes was raised in a family with a deep respect for hard work and dedication. Both his grandfathers spent their entire careers with single companies, and his mother has been a leader in a Fortune 500 company for over 30 years. Inspired by this legacy of perseverance, Hughes moved to Florida in 2007, where he witnessed his father’s success in founding a minority-owned staffing agency that would become one of Central Florida’s top firms.
Motivated by his father’s entrepreneurial spirit, Hughes followed a similar path and launched his own business in 2015: KBI Staffing Solutions LLC in Orlando’s Parramore neighborhood. The company has since been rebranded as Keeping Projects in Motion, a staffing agency dedicated to connecting the local community with job opportunities across various industries.
At the heart of Hughes’ work, he is committed to the Parramore community and its stakeholders. As the previous president of the Holden Heights Neighborhood Association, he played a pivotal role in organizing neighborhood events that brought people together and supported local efforts. Hughes currently serves as Vice Chair of the Orange County Housing Finance Authority Board, advocating for affordable housing initiatives to strengthen the community and provide sustainable housing for its residents. As a real estate investor, he has previously demonstrated his commitment to the community by providing housing opportunities for his employees.
Through this work, Hughes and the nonprofit say they are creating a future where Parramore’s history informs its growth, and where stakeholders feel empowered to build their legacies.
Kenneth Hughes is Mission Parramore District, a nonprofit organization he supports that is committed to bridging the gap between Parramore’s rich history and its progressive future. Mission Parramore District fosters meaningful engagement between the community’s residents, business owners, and property owners, intending to preserve the neighborhood’s heritage while promoting economic development.
