Author and educator, Elaine C. Huffman, recently launched the book, The Mis-Tails of Mooshca and the Little Wekiva River.
The Mis-Tails of Mooshca and the Little Wekiva River is about an overly curious cat named Mooshca who has adventures along the winding Little Wekiva River. Mooshca discovers and meets animals and plants native to this region.
“This book was written not only for my love of animals but the desire to educate readers about one of America’s precious resources, the Little Wekiva River and the plants and animals living and flourishing along its banks,” Huffman said. “Colorfully illustrated for audiences of all ages. By illustration and design, readers become an active part of the journey. Mooscha sets the stage for future adventures as her network of friends become more and more identifiable by children and adults. Based upon actual events, the many plants and friendly animals are featured at the end of the story with original pictures and descriptions. Not only an adventure of entertaining magnitude, readers become educated about our eco-system and the value of living together.”
Huffman, who lives on the banks of the Little Wekiva River in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with four cats and her husband, Danny, said that children, animals, and her desire to protect the environment, were the deciding forces behind this book. She believes her book is the perfect gift to carry out all three.
PublishAmerica presented the The Mis-Tails of Mooshca and the Little Wekiva River, earlier this month.
The book looks like it will be quite interesting, it is always good to have a book that is not only informative but fun for everyone. I must read this book!
Looks like a pretty interesting book; I appreciate anything dealing with our environment and, being from Florida, am always interested in the area. I look forward to receiving the book and wonder if Elaine will be doing any signings in the near future?
Love the title and theme! And the illustrated cover! As an unpublished children’s author I wish it were mine! Good luck!!!!
Already bought the book, worth every penny. Can’t wait for the next one!
Congratulations for publishing your adorable children’s book. From my experience with Scholastic Book Fairs, early reader books involving animal identification flew off the shelves. I look forward to the opportunity to read it, and shall recommend it to many of my friends. Most of all, I wish you success and serendipity in publishing many more titles.
Congratulations for publishing it. I can’t wait to purchase it for the kids and telling all of my friends about it.
