New Date for Polaris Dawn Crewed Rocket Launch from Central Florida

There is a new date for the Polaris Dawn crewed rocket launch from Central Florida.




Now targeted for August 27th, it will be an early morning launch for the Polaris Dawn mission from Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39A.

Polaris Dawn The launch window is from 3:30am – 7:00am (set for approximately 3:38am).

It will be a SpaceX launch on a Falcon 9 rocket. Thre crew is Jared Isaacman (Mission Commander), Scott Poteet (Mission Pilot), Sarah Gillis (Mission Specialist), Anna Menon (Mission Specialist/Medical Officer).

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Polaris Dawn mission from Central Florida. Dragon and the Polaris Dawn crew will spend up to five days in orbit, during which they will work towards the following objectives: High Altitude, First Commercial Spacewalk, In-Space Communications, and Health Impact Research.

This all-civilian mission strives to make some historic firsts, like the first-ever commercial spacewalk.

In addition to the purchase of admission, a premium Launch Transportation Ticket will let see the rocket leave the launch pad. Check-in begins at 1:15am and buses will begin boarding at 1:30am on August 27th in the Bus Embarkation Zone with this special ticket. Please be familiar with the Launch Transportation Ticket (LTT) scrub policy when purchasing a launch viewing ticket. An admission ticket must be purchased for August 27, 2024.
