New College of Florida Plans Charlie Kirk Statue

New College of Florida announced it will commission a statue of Charlie Kirk to honor his legacy and work after his tragic assassination.

The Charlie Kirk statue will be a symbol of the commitment to defend free speech and civil discourse. New College of Florida says it is the state’s public honors college, educating free thinkers, risk takers and trailblazers.

“The statue, privately funded by community leaders, will stand on campus as a commitment by New College to defend and fight for free speech and civil discourse in American life. The location for the statue will be announced in the coming months,” New College of Florida posted.

The announcement of the Charlie Kirk statue received a reaction from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

“When New College of Florida was a de facto Marxist compound this would have never happened,” Republican Governor Ron DeSantis posted. “Glad to see the positive changes that have been made over the years. Good job!”

Located on Sarasota Bay in one of Florida’s most beautiful coastal cities, New College of Florida says it offers a campus experience that blends academic intensity with the laid-back energy of the Gulf Coast.

  1. It was never a “de facto Marxist compound” (except maybe in the Groucho sense). But it’s easier to make the big bucks if you paint a target on a small, strange, overperforming, largely libertarian institution. What I mean by “big bucks”: check out why Richard Corcoran left Jefferson County, and how much he’s earning per student compared to every other university president in America.
