Deron Williams’ 20 points and 9 assists led the Brooklyn Nets to a 97-77 victory Monday night over the Orlando Magic.
After the Magic started the season so strong, most believed the team even without Dwight Howard would make the playoffs. It’s safe to say those predictions are down the drain.
Orlando has now lost 6 straight and are (2-8) in their last 10.
“We are just in a hole right now,” Magic guard J.J. Redick said.
Hedo Turkoglu played his first game since January 7, but was largely ineffective, finishing with four points on 2 for 5 shooting.
With the win, The Nets (27-18) swept the four-game season series over the Magic.
In Aaron Afflalo’s absence coach Jacque Vaughn started Maurice Harkless for the first time since Dec. 29.
Harkless scored a career-high 16 points, showing the Magic coaching staff and fans they have young talent.
It doesn’t get any easier for Orlando as their next game is Wednesday against the New York Knicks.
