Nemours Children’s Hospital Receives National Award for Nursing Excellence

Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida in Orlando has been selected as a recipient of the Emergency Nurses Association’s 2024 Lantern Award.




The award recognizes Nemours Children’s for demonstrating emergency nursing excellence in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research performance.

Nemours Children's Hospital“When entering an emergency department, patients and their families seek quick access, meaningful interactions with their health care team and a coordinated plan of care,” said Nicole Johnson, Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing and Patient Operations Officer for Nemours Children’s Health, Central Florida. “The Lantern Award serves as a visible symbol that excellence is embodied, and exceptional care is provided in our emergency department.”

As part of the application process, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida shared outcomes data and stories that highlighted its commitment to delivering high-quality care. This marks the third time that Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida has received a Lantern Award. Moreover, the hospital is one of only five 2024 honorees to have received the award more than once since its inception in 2011.

As a Lantern Award recipient, Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida will be recognized during the Emergency Nurses Association’s annual conference in Las Vegas this September.
