The 2010 Chocolate Nutcracker this year will be presented on December 10 -12, at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre, two weeks before Christmas. This multi-cultural dance and music extravaganza will include 250 children, youth, and professional dancers, who are exciting and captivating.
This year our invited guest on Saturday, December 11 at 8:00 pm will be the national gospel recording artist, Ms. Vickie Winans. Each night, the former Miss America 2004, Orlando’s own Ms. Erica Dunlap will perform as Aunt Pearl, and there will also be a special scene with the Kornbit Dance Troupe of Haiti. On December 12, at 3:00 pm the national recording artists, Bishop Bruce Allen & Senior Pastor Allen Wiggins, of the Orlando Hope Church, of Allen & Allen will be performing. Also there will be a special performance by Orlando Christian Ministries Band and Praise Team.
This year is filled with surprises, because in the party scenes there is no telling what prominent local elected leader or celebrity will cut a step in the production. We hear that some of our city commissioners enjoy dressing up and dancing, and you have to buy a ticket to enjoy the festivities.
December 10 at 10:00 am is the abbreviated version of the production, and it is reserved for students, teachers and senior citizens. The price of the children and senior tickets are $10.00, and this is an opportunity for our children and youth to experience and learn about the arts. Tickets for this performance are only available at [email protected], www.orlandochocolatenutcracker.com, 407-403-5519, and checks made payable to “Southwest United Communities Inc.”
Tickets for the December 11-12th performance are available at Ticketmaster & Amway Ticket Box Office. Ticket prices range from $49.50, $39.50, and $29.50, with group discounts of $5.00 off each ticket on purchase of 10 tickets or more, and seniors, students, and children of 12 and under receive $5.00 off each ticket.
