NACCE announces Conference Media Sponsorship with WONO

The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), a thought-leader in enabling community colleges nationwide to link their traditional role of workforce development with entrepreneurial development, announced today that West Orlando News Online (WONO), a leading independent media company based in Orlando, Florida, has become a NACCE 8th Annual Conference Media Sponsor. The media sponsorship will enable West Orlando News Online to share with the Florida community information and updates about the 8th Annual Conference.

Participants at NACCE's 2009 Annual Conference

The NACCE 8th Annual Conference takes place October 10-13, 2010 at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort ® at Universal Orlando®, Florida. The conference is a showcase for innovative community college faculty and administrators nationwide to gather together to identify entrepreneurship opportunities and create positive organizational and community change.

Through entrepreneurial leadership, entrepreneurship education, and student business incubation programs attendees will learn how their community college can make an impact in their community’s economic future.

“We are proud to work with NACCE as we provide our support and promote goodwill by working with their association,” said Keith Longmore, general manager of  West Orlando News Online. “It is our hope that this sponsorship will contribute to the continued dedication and entrepreneurship education insight that NACCE has brought to its 1,200+ worldwide members. At this unique time and place, with a recovering economy, West Orlando News Online feels that any contribution to encouraging entrepreneurship is an important step all of us need to undertake and we are proud to do so with NACCE.”

“NACCE is committed to delivering exceptional resources and content to its members and the community,” said Heather Van Sickle, executive director of NACCE. “The NACCE 8th Annual Conference is a hallmark event for the association’s entrepreneurship education efforts and it’s with excitement that we recognize The West Orlando News Online as a media sponsor and supporter of this initiative. Through support like theirs we can share the importance of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education to an even broader audience.”

Elevator grants, sponsored by the Chicago based Coleman Foundation, have become a popular feature of the Annual Conference and are being offered again this year. An elevator grant is based on the skill of describing a new business venture in a three-minute pitch. Immediate deliberation by the foundation’s board and staff ensure on-the-spot funding with grant checks presented at the last session of the NACCE conference. The Coleman foundation awarded $70,000 at the 2009 conference and plans on exceeding their offering at this year’s Annual Conference.
