My Two Cents on the Trayvon Martin Case for What It is Worth

I am sorry that a guy like George Zimmerman is a Neighborhood Watch Commander. Even in the military there is a protocol to fire a warning shot when chasing a suspect. It is never intended to shoot a person but warn the person that the military person has a weapon.

Mr. Zimmerman now in hiding like Casey Anthony, can be very proud he killed Trayvon Martin a seventeen year old black male who just happened to be in the wrong place and the wrong time. I have to question the logic of Mr. Zinnmerman who completely disregarded the police who told him do not engage Martin. Also I have to question why Zimmerman a Neighborhood watch commander was carrying a gun. There isn’t a single Neighborhood Watch program that I know of that allows its members to carry a weapon and they do not want a confrontation with a possible suspect. Zimmerman is a prime example of what Neighborhood Watch programs do not want their members to do.

He is just a bad dude. In his backround is a confrontation for assaulting an officer in 2005. Also on his record is some kind of domestic violence. He was never prosecuted for either offense. Makes you wonder what else he has gotten away with.

We can tell from the tapes that Zimmerman was determined to get Trayvon at any cost. This is nothing more than a man carrying out his racist beliefs. Many say no he isn’t a racist. But so much that is now coming out shows that he very much is because of the many things he has done as watch commander

Here are some that are already documented. His saying “Those people always get off,” when he called in his 911 call about Trayvon Martin. His not talking to two black teenagers who live in the same community each time they talked to him, and 46 calls all to Sanford Police last year in which he targeted mostly black people, among them a man who looked through other peoples garbage. All of these actions we now know about suggests otherwise.

I know the wheels of justice are slow but we must be patient. We do not want a rush to judgment as the state did in the Casey Anthony Case.

Already there is to be a grand jury investigation, and there are several federal cases in the works to look into Zimmerman’s actions. There are also requests to have Zimmerman’s weapons permit revoked and other things are beginning to take place. Everyday there is something new that comes out about this case on the local, national, and international levels.

I would hate like hell to have Zimmerman protect my neighborhood. It is a sad day in America when we have to have someone like Zimmerman as a protector. He is a sorry excuse for a Neighborhood Watch Commander and he sets a very bad example for all of us. We all know he saw a black kid and decided he was going to take this kid out no matter what. And he did. Again I would not want a guy like that protecting my neighborhood. He is of the mindset shoot first and ask questions later. He is the poorest excuse for a Neighborhood Watch Commander I have ever seen.

One message is very clear: we think we have come so far as a nation in race relations but the reality is that we are not as far along as many have believed. Let us hope, besides charging Zimmerman and convicting him for murder, that there is some other good that comes out of this tragedy.
