A total of 11 people were transported to local hospitals after the driver of a van lost control and struck six vehicles on Colonial Drive on Wednesday morning.
Troopers said, Travis Richardson, 20, lost control of the Ford van he was driving as he approached the intersection of Colonial Drive and Paul Street on Orange County’s west side.
The van overturned several times and struck the other vehicles including a Lincoln driven by 70-year-old Neil Sellers, of Orlando. Sellers who suffered serious injuries in the crash was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Troopers also said, that the exact sequence of events is still under investigation.
Eleven people were transported to two hospitals, some with minor injuries.
Richardson was transporting eight passengers, several of whom were adults with special needs.
The crash is still under investigation, but Richardson, who suffered minor injuries, was ticketed with careless driving.
