Multiple Semi Truck Collide on I-95, One Driver Killed

Three semi trucks and a passenger vehicle collided on Interstate 95 early on Thursday morning, leaving one of the drivers of a semi dead, troopers said

The crash occurred near Port Orange, near mile marker 257, just before 3:30 a.m.

Troopers said, a mail truck, a log truck and another semi carrying chemicals all collided and erupted in flames. Persons in the area said that several explosions were heard, wesh.com reports.

Troopers also said, the driver of the truck hauling chemical is the deceased driver.

Three occupants in the passenger vehicle involved int he crash suffered minor to serious injuries.

All northbound lanes of Interstate 95 remain closed and will remain closed indefinitely, troopers said. Drivers traveling northbound should seek an alternative route, US-1. The southbound lanes were reopened early on Thursday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash.
