Motorcyclist Sustains Critical Injuries in I-4 Crash

Troopers are investigating a crash on I-4 near exit 58 in Osceola County on Wednesday night, which has left the driver of a motorcycle in critical condition.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge Avenger, driven by Elizabeth Fredrick, 26, of Orlando, was traveling westbound around 10: 41 pm, on I-4 directly behind Adrian Ibarra, 24, of Davenport, who was driving a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle.

Troopers said Fredrick indicated that she was preparing to exit and had changed lanes to the outside lane moments before the collision.  Fredrick failed to slow  and the front of the Avenger struck the rear of Ibarra’s motorcycle causing the driver to overturn, throwing him onto the roadway.

Ibarra, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.

Fredrick sustained minor injuries.

Troopers said that alcohol played no role in the crash and that charges are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
