Motorcyclist Killed in Red-Light-Runner Crash

A motorcycle driver was killed on Tuesday on CR 427 near Lake Mary Boulevard in Seminole County.

Witnesses told troopers, a Dodge four-door vehicle, driven by 36-year-old Jennifer Hackney, of Sanford, ran the red light on the exit ramp from northbound SR 417 to Lake Mary Boulevard.

John W. Bennett, 35, who was on a motorcycle traveling westbound on CR 427, attempted to take evasive action and dropped the motorcycle on the ground. Bennett slid into the undercarriage of the Dodge, troopers said.

Bennett was taken to the Central Florida Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hackney and her passenger 27-year-old Stefanie K. Graziano of Winter Springs were not injured in the crash.

FHP said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
