Motorcyclist Killed in Guard Rail Collision

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a guard rail on Friday, according to a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol.

53-year-old Douglas W. Allen, of Royal Palm Beach was traveling northbound on the Turnpike, when he attempted to exit onto State Road 429, and lost control changing lanes.

Allen struck the guard rail and was ejected from the 2010 Harley Davidson he was riding.

His passenger, 39-year-old Tracy Cender, of Wellington, Florida, was also ejected from the motorcycle.

Allen was confirmed dead at the scene by the medical examiner. Cender suffered serious injuries.  Neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Troopers said, the bike continued riderless until coming to a final rest against the guard rail.

The crash happened just before 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
