A motorcyclist was killed on Tuesday, after he struck the rear of a dump truck, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers say, the 45-year-old motorcyclist was traveling westbound on State Road 408 in the center lane. The dump truck driven by Julio Sanchez Rivera, 42, of Ocoee, was also going westbound.
For an unknown reason, troopers say, the Harley Davidson motorcycle struck the left rear of the dump truck and the driver was ejected.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital East.
Troopers have not released the name of the motorcyclist pending notification of next of kin. Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The actions of both drivers prior to the collision are still being investigated.
The crash occurred near Rouse Road around 1:20 p.m.
