Motorcycle Rider Killed in High Speed Crash

A motorcyclist was killed early on Wednesday morning in a high-speed crash in Brevard County.

Florida Highway Patrol said, 29-year-old Justis Brewer, of Cocoa, was riding his 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on State Road 528, when he lost control, veered to the right and struck a guardrail on the south shoulder.

Brewer was ejected and struck a barrier wall near mile marker 53.  He was pronounced dead at Holmes Regional Hospital.

Troopers said, speed was definitely a factor in the crash.

Brewer was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, troopers said.

The crash was reported around 2:25 a.m. It is unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation.
