A woman who expressed regret for killing her 18-year-old daughter was today sentenced to 20 years in jail.
38-year-old Stacy Pagli, admitted to strangling her daughter Marissa at Manhattanville College in New York State.
Pagli told police after killing her daughter, she was “disrespectful all the time.” She said she told her daughter, “This will be the last time you speak to me like that.”
Marissa Pagli, a fresh-man at the college was found dead in the family’s apartment on-campus in February 2010.
According to the dailymail.com, Marissa’s father who worked as a maintenance supervisor at the college, found the body.
Stacy Pagli, who was overwhelmed after strangling her daughter, tried on several occasions to take her life by slitting her wrist and hanging herself on a door knob.
Pagli told police, “I wish I could take it back, but I can’t. I can’t make it better.”
