47-year-old Cindy M. Willison and her son, Angelo J. Palmieri, 20, were arrested and charged with armed robbery of a Cumberland Farms Store.

Police said, just before 4:00 am, Palmieri entered the Cumberland Farms Store at 2501 13th Street, approached the store clerk and demanded money from the cash register.  Palmieri, who was wearing a black and red hooded sweat shirt and sunglasses, implied he had a weapon, police said.

Palmieri then fled the store and entered the vehicle of Cindy M. Willison, his mother, and they both sped away.

A quick thinking clerk, who had handed over the money to Palmieri, called police and a traffic stop of the vehicle was initiated.

Police found the stolen cash in the vehicle and arrested both mother and son, who confessed to the armed robbery.

Cops said, while handcuffed and in custody, Palmieri attempted again to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Willison and Palmieri are being held in the Osceola County Jail.
