A Winter Haven mother and son who teamed up to run a Chop Shop were arrested Thursday, Polk County deputies said.

59-year-old Aleta Burgett and her 29-year-old son, Brent Burgett, along with an associate, Alexander Bove, 26, were each charged with one count of operating a chop shot, one count of burglary conveyance and one count of grand auto theft, among other charges.

Detectives, following up on leads on stolen vehicles, were led to A-One Quality Services located at 122 Diary Road in Auburndale.  There they seized a number of items including stolen vehicles, stolen vehicle parts, stolen trailers, 49 firearms, ammunition and $13,000 in cash.  A-One Quality Services was supposed to be a septic tank service, deputies said.

Deputies also said, some of the firearms seized have been confirmed stolen.

Brent Burgett is a convicted felon with a 10-year criminal history to include aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.  He is certain to face additional charges, deputies confirmed.

The trio was booked into the Polk County Jail earlier today.
