More Florida Heathcare Professionals Ordered to Stop Practicing

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) today announced the suspension of seven Florida practitioners and issued Emergency Suspension Orders (ESO). The ESOs immediately suspend the practitioners’ licenses to practice in Florida.

Over the past week the following ESOs were filed:

  • Toni J. Roberts, Certified Nursing Assistant, Pace. Roberts violated Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code for intentionally violating a Florida Statute; unprofessional conduct, including stealing from a patient; and engaging or attempting to engage in the possession, sale or distribution of controlled substances for any other than legitimate purposes.
  • Phillipe D. Thomas, Certified Nursing Assistant, Holiday. Thomas violated Florida Statutes when he entered a plea of guilty to one count of possession of hydrocodone.
  •  Kayla M. Blickley, Certified Nursing Assistant, Titusville. Blickley violated Florida Statutes when she entered a plea of guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance.
  • Rhonda Rae Low, Registered Nurse, Cape Coral. Low violated Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code by engaging in unprofessional conduct and testing positive for any drugs under Chapter 893, Florida Statutes, on her drug screen when she did not have a prescription and legitimate medical reason for using such drugs.
  •  Alberto Sant Antonia, Medical Doctor, Weston. Sant Antonia violated Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code and Title 18 United States Code by performing a liposuction directly related to another procedure and attempting to extract more than 1,000 cc supernatant fat, and committed medical malpractice by failing to practice medicine in accordance with the level of care, skill and treatment recognized in general law related to health care licensure.
  •  Juan Manuel De Oleo, Physician Assistant, Miramar. De Oleo violated Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code, by being convicted or found guilty after trial, of one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and five counts of aiding and abetting health care fraud.
  • Christopher G. Wayne, Osteopathic Physician, Miami. Wayne violated Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code for improperly prescribing opiod medication by inappropriately prescribing or prescribing excessive or inappropriate quantities of controlled substances to more than one patient and committed medical malpractice for failing to practice medicine in accordance with the level of care, skill and treatment recognized in general law related to health care licensure.
