Moore Gets Big Endorsement in Orange County Commission, District 2 Race

Alvin Moore, Vice Mayor of Eatonville and candidate for Orange County Commission District 2, was endorsed this week by the Central Florida AFL-CIO Labor Council, which represents 60,000 workers in Central Florida.

Eric Clinton, President of the Central Florida AFL-CIO Labor Council said, “We are proud to support Alvin Moore in the race for Orange County Commission District 2. He ahs been elected to Eatonville Town Council three times and knows what it takes to run a competitive race and win.”

Moore, the Broker/Owner of Morehouse Realty has received strong support from the local small business community and welcomes the working men and women of labor to his campaign. Moore was recently endorsed by the Orange County Professional Fire Fighters IAFF, Local 2057.

“I appreciate the support of all organizations that want to move Orange County forward and put its residents back to work at jobs where they can support their families, Moore said. “I have been supported by many small business owners and others in the real estate industry who believe my vision for District 2 is the best. I will work with anyone who wants to improve the community whether they carry a toolbox or briefcase to work.” 

Clinton said, “Workers in Orange County deserve representatives on the County Commission who advocate for their interests. Alvin will be someone the working families of Central Florida AFL-CIO can count on to do the right thing.”

Moore’s diverse background as an appliance repairman, bail bondsman, juvenile justice caseworker, bank branch manager, commercial lending officer and real estate broker has enabled him to connect with District residents and business owners. Moore chooses to live in Eatonville and understands the challenges of those who live paycheck to paycheck. He also owns his own business with 10 employees and understands what business owners face making payroll each week.

The election for Orange County Commission, District 2 will be held August 26, 2014.
