An 18-year-old Monteverde man is in the Orange County Jail, charged with sexual battery of two girls, ages 13 and 12 years, Lake County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Justin Quammen, 18, of Monteverde was arrested, after confessing to sexual battery, lewd or lascivious battery, lascivious molestation, false imprisonment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor on December 22.
Deputies learned the 13-year-old victim spent the night of December 22 with the 12-year-old girl at her home in Clermont and that sometime after mid-night, the two girls snuck out of the house to be picked up by Quammen, with whom the girls are acquainted.
According to deputies, Quammen drove the two girls to a field near an orange grove in Monteverde where he provided the girls with vodka and committed unwanted sexual acts on them. Subsequently, Quammen left the area and the girls were able to contact a friend who took them home.
Deputies interviewed Quammen at a second home on Watchet Way in Orlando and he confessed to the allegations, stating he had gone too far.
Quammen was taken into custody in Orange County during the early hours of December 24.
During the interview deputies said that Quammen made comments which suggest there may possibly be other juveniles who have been victimized by him.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience with Quammen to contact them.
