Mom has Orlando friends Kidnap 8-year-old Son from Dad

A mother of an 8-year-old boy, early this morning, engineered the removal of her son from his father, by two black males, Orlando Police Department detectives said.

Richard Douglas, 23 years, arrested

According to OPD:

George J. Davis who is the father of 8-year-old, Dashonte K. Davis, says he arrived in a cab at rear of a motel at 5909 American Way, around 1:00 am, on 5th March, when he was approached by two black men, demanding his son.  George Davis states he was told “Don’t move give me your son”, but he refused and the suspects then grabbed Dashonte.  He knew one of the men, Richard E. Douglas, as “Rich” through his wife, Laporsha Davis.   The men fled the scene in a buick with Dashonte.

George Davis states he ran to the front of the motel, met up with his brother, Jerome J. Davis, who immediately called police.

Laporsha Davis confirmed to police that she was in fear of her son’s life and well being and that she had in fact instructed suspect Richard Douglas, to pick up her son from his father.  OPD officers state that Laporsha Davis refused to provide information on the location of Dashonte after he was taken by the suspects.

Christopher Stokes, 22, arrested

About one hour later, about 2:05 am, the other suspect in the kidnapping of Dashonte, Christopher M. Stokes, made contact with OPD, but ended the telephone call prematurely.  OPD dispatch subsequently contacted the kidnappers who said that they were returning to the motel with the 8-year-old boy. In the vicinity of South Kirkman Road and Valencia College Lane, Douglas and Stokes flagged down a marked OPD patrol car.  Douglas was in the passenger seat and Dashonte, the 8-year-old boy was in the back of the car.  The boy was in healthy condition and unharmed.

Douglas, 23 years, and Stokes, 22, were arrested and charged with interfering with the custody of a minor. Bond was set at $2,500 each for the two men.  They will appear in court tomorrow, Saturday, March 6th.

  1. The mother should definitely be charged who in their right mind has their son kidnapped. If she thought her son was in harms way there is a better way than to have his fathered held up and kidnapping your son. PPL are crazy
