Police at Tampa International Airport have apprehended the woman Polk County deputies say, is responsible for murdering her one-year-old child yesterday.
33-year-old Neha Patel, was taken into custody around 1:19 p.m. Friday, after an employee at Ampco Parking, the company that manages the airport’s parking facility, advised police that a car fitting the description of Patel’s vehicle had been seen driving into the long-term parking garage.
Authorities believe Neha killed her 1-year-old son, Ishan, yesterday.
Neha’s husband, 33-year-old Rasesh Patel, told investigators during the search for his wife, that she suffers from postpartum depression and had not been taking her medication.
After disappearing for hours on Thursday, Neha eventually returned home early on Friday morning with the baby wrapped in blanket. Although paramedics attempted CPR, deputies believe though, the baby had been dead for sometime.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said, Ishan died from blunt force trauma.
Investigators say, Patel will be booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
Authorities are currently interviewing Neha.
It is believed that she is suicidal.
