Today, Orange County deputies identified the diver whose body was found on Saturday in a lake near the Eagle Creek Golf Course on Emerson Lake Boulevard in Orlando.
The deceased is 24-year-old Christopher Martin.
Martin and another diver were contracted by Eagle Creek to locate golf balls in the waterways off the golf course, on Friday. Â Investigators learned the two divers were in different locations searching for golf balls. Â The other diver, who is unnamed, told investigators he observed Martin’s air tank floating unattended and went to look for him, but was unable to find him. Â That’s when Orange County Dive Team members were called to the location and a search began.
Last Saturday, the Dive Team resumed the search around 8:30 a.m., but as deputies were about to clear the scene just before 7:00 p.m, Martin’s body was located.
