First Lady Michelle Obama will attempt to rally the base on behalf of her husband, President Barack Obama, when she speaks today in Orlando.
Mrs. Obama will speak about what’s at stake in the upcoming election for Floridians, encourage supporters to register to vote and volunteer for the campaign, according to a news release from the campaign.
The first lady will deliver remarks at the University of Central Florida Arena at 5:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but there are reports that all tickets have already been taken.
Prior to her Orlando stop, Mrs. Obama held a similar event in Miami on Tuesday, where she spoke to a crowd of supporters at the Barbara Goleman High School in Miami Lakes.
President Obama is in a tight re-election race with Republican challenger former Gov. Mitt Romney, although recent polls show Mr. Obama slightly ahead in Florida.
