Miami TSA Officers Arrested for Stealing from Passengers

After reportedly being caught on camera stealing from passengers, three Transportation Security Administration officers at Miami International Airport have been arrested.

According to Miami-Dade records, the TSA officers arrested at MIA on charges of organized scheme to defraud are Josue Gonzalez, Elizabeth Fuster, and Labarrius Williams.

The alleged thefts reportedly happened during security screenings when the TSA officers would distract passengers while others would go through belongings and steal money. Florida airports are usually busy, with travel picking up for the summer season.

This is the kind of thing that shocks many travelers, but may add an additional worry as well. It also raises concerns about what the TSA is missing while they are busy committing crime.

The TSA said they hold Transportation Security Officers to “the highest professional and ethical standards” and that the agency “has no tolerance for misconduct in the workplace.”
