The Miami Beach Police Department is increasing patrols at synagogues, schools and other key locations ahead of Purim.
The increased law enforcement presence in Miami Beach comes amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we have increased our uniformed presence at synagogues, schools, and other key locations citywide,” the Miami Beach Police Department said. “We remain in close coordination with our law enforcement partners and leaders within the faith-based community.”
“With Purim approaching in the coming days – a time of celebration, unity, and faith – we stand with all members of our community and encourage everyone to remain vigilant. We urge residents and visitors to promptly report any suspicious or unlawful activity,” the Miami Beach Police added.
While local law enforcement in South Florida said they are closely monitoring the ongoing conflict, the Miami Beach Police Department added that there were no known credible threats to the City of Miami Beach.
For non-emergencies, call 305.673.7901 and in the event of an emergency, dial 911 immediately.
