Men’s Lacrosse defeats Edgewater; Softball tops Brantley; Women’s Hoops Final Four tonight

Men’s Lacrosse kept their streak alive last night with an 11-5 victory over host Edgewater. They have not lost yet this season. Junior attack Brett Forward found the back of their net seven times and defenseman Kevin Hoppey regeistered ten ground balls for the Panthers(2-0). Senior goalie Craig Jackson picked up ten saves. DP will travel Tuesday night for a critical District game at Freedom.

Softball shook off a tough loss earlier in the week and rebounded with a strong 3-1 victoryover Lake Brantley at home. Kaley Eastwood and Sarah Kollas both went 1-3 with a run scored while Jecoliah Pratt went 1-3 as well. Pratt dominated on the mound with 12 strikeouts, allowing just four hits.Eastwood’s diving catch at shortstop in the fourth inning prevented whatcould have been a big inning for the Patriots. Down 1-0, DP tied the score in the bottom of the fourth and then added two more runs in the fifth for the deciding margin. The Panthers, now 7-1, will travel to Boone Wednesday.

JV Softball (1-3) fell to visiting Lake Brantley, 10-0, but some strong performances to mention,regardless. Megan Maladecki continued her four-game hitting streak and DonnaRyan struck out five batters. They’ll head to Boone Wednesday.

Both Men’s and Women’s Tennis traveled up to Volusia County yesterday to take on powerful Spruce Creek . Despite battling well in every line, both teams fell to the Hawks,7-0. They’ll be back in action at First Academy Tuesday.

Women’s Lacrosse gave host Lake Mary all they could handle but came up short last night, 9-8.Freshman Cymber Larkin scored four goals, Katherine Breese addedtwo and Michaela Decker added a pair as well. JV Lacrosse got a trio of goals from Daniela Davila and another by Jimena Davilabut it wasn’t enough as the Panthers fell to Lake Mary, 6-4. Bothteams will host Freedom Wednesday night.

Women’s Basketball travels to Lakeland tonight to defend their StateChampionship! DP (27-3) will take on Orlando University at 7:00 PM in thesemifinals with tomorrow’s championship game, pending a victory tonight, scheduled for 8:35 PM.

On Saturday, Baseball hosts a doubleheader with Eustis starting with the JV at 11:00 AM and varsity at 2:00 PM.
