Attorney General Bill McCollum has still not endorsed Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott and it seems that there is little love lost between the two.
Scott, drew some national attention with a Monday morning interview with CNN — but sounded a theme familiar with anyone who saw his TV ads in the Republican primary.
Asked by anchor Kiran Chetry how important it was for defeated primary rival, Attorney General Bill McCollum, to endorse him, Scott shrugged. Then Scott seemed to lapse into default mode, all-but tarring McCollum again with the “career politician” label he used so adeptly during the primary.
“It’d be nice if Bill McCollum endorsed me,” Scott told CNN. “It’s hard for him, he’s been in politics for 30 years. But my focus is on–just like I did in that primary — go right out and talk to voters.”
McCollum last week also had a ready response when asked by reporters if he would endorse Scott. “No,” McCollum said, without elaborating.
