Mayor Dyer’s PKZ hosts basketball game with BASH

Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Parramore Kidz Zone (PKZ) is hosting a basketball scrimmage game with Bailey’s Belief with Action Serves Humanity (BASH), a South Carolina non-profit organization serving youth with a similar background to those of the Parramore community.  Bailey’s BASH youth will also have the opportunity to spend time at the PKZ Teen Shack, the newly renovated safe space for teens to hang out at the Orlando Downtown Recreation Complex funded by Orlando Magic Center Dwight Howard.

Bailey’s BASH youth traveled from North Charleston, South Carolina at the invitation of the NBA’s Orlando Magic basketball team.  The goal of the trip is to encourage and inspire hope in the youth that attend.  In addition to their events with PKZ, the 58 members of Bailey’s BASH will also tour the City of Orlando and attend their very first NBA game.  Bailey’s BASH is a non-profit organization which builds hope and inspiration in the lives of individuals who have been underserved.  The organization seeks to empower and encourage those it serves through various programs and projects.

Modeled after the Harlem Children’s Zone, Parramore Kidz Zone employs creative outreach to engage a critical mass of Parramore’s children and linking them to positive opportunities, including pre-kindergarten education, parenting education, health care, mentoring, tutoring, and constructive activities when school is out.
