Mayor Dyer to “Ignite” Downtown with Orlando Magic Pep Rally

WHAT:        Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invites Central Florida residents to join him in cheering on our Eastern Conference Champions.  At noon on Thursday, June 4, Mayor Dyer will host a pep rally at City Hall in Downtown Orlando.  Orlando Magic fans will tip-off the festivities for Game 1 of the NBA Finals with music, Magic Dancers, Magic giveaways and a special video presentation.

The City of Orlando is encouraging businesses to show their support for the Orlando Magic by chalking their sidewalks blue and white.  The following Downtown businesses have already agreed to demonstrate their pride for the Eastern Conference Champions by using chalk to decorate the sidewalks in front of their businesses: Senso Supper Club, Wall Street Plaza, Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., 310 Lakeside Restaurant and Jefre Studio.

Additionally, Mayor Dyer hopes to ignite more Magic spirit by asking fans to wear blue and white or Magic gear everyday throughout the play-offs, starting with Game 1 on Thursday.

Details about a wager with Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa will be forthcoming.
