Mayor Dyer Invites Orlando to Celebrate July 4th at Lake Eola

WHAT:

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invites residents and visitors to attend Fireworks at the Fountain on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando.  Guests will enjoy live entertainment on two stages; an area just for kids; mouth-watering, affordable Fourth of July cuisine and an amazing fireworks display.  Festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. and spectators are encouraged to arrive early for a great viewing spot.  The 15-minute fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m.

For those who are unable to make it to the festivities, the fireworks display will be shown live in HD on WFTV Channel 9 beginning at 9:30 p.m.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

• Cartoon Network and Bright House Networks will host television characters from Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Invasion in the kids’ area. Children will be able to meet and take photos with the Ben 10 characters and have the opportunity to win prizes and giveaways.

• A special booth, run by Rochelle’s Boots on the Ground, will be accepting donations toward care packages for our troops serving in active war zones.

• Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida will be on-site offering free health screenings and back massages.

PARKING:

The free LYMMO Circulator is recommended for Downtown residents and attendees parking at garages other than the Orange County Library Garage (located at 112 East Pine Street).

Handicapped parking will be available on Rosalind Avenue between Jefferson Street and Central Boulevard on July 4th for the event. Please approach the road closure and show the police officer your handicapped designation for parking.
