A man who stabbed another man to death at a McDonald’s Restaurant on Christmas Day, because he refused to give up his money, is now in police custody.
Orlando police say, 38-year-old Jerry Tyson stabbed a patron at the McDonald’s fast food restaurant at 3005 W. Colonial Drive, before 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday. Witnesses told investigators that Tyson approach the unnamed man and attempted to grab money from the victim’s hands as he attempted to pay for his order. The victim refused to give up his money and that’s when Tyson stabbed the man repeatedly. The victim was pronounced deceased at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Witnesses also said, Tyson fled the McDonald’s after stabbing the victim, dropping a large knife in the parking lot as he ran.
Sabre, a police K-9, tracked Tyson to a nearby wooded area, east of John Young Parkway and was able to apprehend him, but not before delivering two bites to his heel and left arm.
Tyson has been charged with second degree murder, robbery and resisting an officer with violence.
Police have not released the identity of the victim.
