Toby Garcia, an employee of Freeman Exposition Services, was helping to set up a carnival ride in the south parking lot of the OCCC when he fell approximately 20 feet to the pavement below. The accident happened around 9:30 a.m.

Garcia, who is Hispanic, was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition. His current condition is unknown.

The ride on which Garcia was working at the time of the accident was one of the many thrill rides, part of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo 2013, which opened Monday, November 17, and runs through November 22, in Orlando.

The Expo is the largest annual conference and trade show for the $24 billion global theme park and attractions, converting the OCCC into a dazzling marketplace of theme park thrills. Expo attendees test amusement rides, games, food, and fun showcased by nearly 1,100 exhibitors from five continents.

Representing 100 nations, more than 26,000 professionals from amusement parks, water parks, zoos, aquariums, museums, and family entertainment centers are at the Expo to network and learn about new trends and innovations for 2014 and beyond.
