Man Uses Car as Weapon against Police, Shot and Killed

UPDATE

The name of the deceased is Torey Breedlove, 27 years.   According to Orange County Sheriff’s deputies, Breedlove had an extensive criminal history including numerous felony charges.

A man driving a stolen vehicle, when boxed in by Orange County deputies began to ram their cars with his own, was shot and killed today.

In the early morning hours of January 5, 2010, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Auto Trap and Auto Theft Units identified a vehicle they believed to be stolen.  The vehicle was located at the Alta Westgate Apartment Complex at 6830 Alta Westgate Drive. In their police vehicles, deputies boxed in the suspect’s vehicle who began to ram the deputies’ cars in an effort to escape. Deputies fired upon the suspect killing him.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating the incident.  No details of the  deputy involved in the shooting have been released.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is conducting its own concurrent investigation.
