A Lakeland man was struck and killed early on Saturday morning, as he stood in the center lane on Interstate 4, Florida Highway Patrol said.
Edward Richardson, 45, for an unknown reason, was standing in the center lane on I-4, near mile marker 67, when Daniel Parrish, traveling eastbound in a 2013 Hyundai SUV, struck him.
Richardson was thrown onto the road’s shoulder and was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner.
Parrish, 23, of Oviedo, was unhurt.
Troopers are awaiting toxicology results to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in Richardson’s death.
The crash remains under investigation.
