A 40-year-old man in Washington, D.C., was shot and killed by a cab driver after the two men got into an argument over a discarded broom.
Law enforcement officers say, 55-year-old Ricardo Cruz, a cab driver, had stopped around 5:30 p.m. to pick up broom lying near some trash outside a home on Leroy Gorham Drive in the Capitol Heights area of D.C., the Washington Post reports.
Cruz got into an argument with 40-year-old Norman Francis Wood III, the victim, over the broom, sources said.
Subsequently, the argument developed into a fistfight and Wood was shot and killed, police said.
Cruz has been charged with first degree murder and related charges.
