A man who shot and killed another man after the two argued, confessed to the murder, Orange County deputies said.
29-year-old Dunyell McGriff and 33-year-old Arthur Lee Avery, known to each other, got into a verbal argument in the 1000 block on Monk Street early on Sunday morning.
Investigators said, Avery left the scene and returned with a shotgun, whereupon he fired a shot in the air. He then turned and shot McGriff in the upper body.
McGriff was pronounced dead at the scene.
Avery, who fled after murdering McGriff, turned himself over to detectives a short time later. He provided a full confession, investigators said.
Authorities recovered the shotgun used to kill McGriff.
Avery was charged with first degree murder and booked into the Orange County Jail around 7:00 a.m., Sunday.
