Deputies have identified the man who was shot and killed at the Plaza de Las Fuentes apartment complex on McDougall Court on Wednesday morning.
The deceased is, 41-year-old Larry Duggan, a White male.
Deputies have not released the name of the shooter and they say, no charges will be filed against him.
The shooter and homeowner told investigators that Duggan came to his apartment demanding cash. He said he would comply, but Duggan then entered the apartment, picked up a knife and threatened the homeowner.
The homeowner told deputies, he retreated, got a gun and fired at Duggan. He then called 911 and rendered aid to Duggan until paramedics arrived. Duggan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say, the homeowner and Duggan only knew each other for a short time.
The shooter had allowed Duggan to stay in another unit that he owned on McDougall Court, investigators also say.
