murder_generic_20100528134022_320_240Around 5:00 p.m., Thursday, a man was shot to death in front of other people at a gas station on Orange County’s east side.

Surveillance footage shows and witnesses tell Orange County deputies that the victim arrived at the RaceTrac gas station located at 6001 S. John Young Parkway (intersection of JYP and Oak Ridge Road), on bicycle and was inside the convenience store at the same time as the suspect.

Investigators say, at some point, both left the store and the suspect walked up to the victim, produced a handgun and opened fire at point black range.

The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead by Orange County Fire Rescue.

The suspect is believed to have fled the scene in a late 1980’s model Toyota Supra, with faded gray paint and possible damage to the front driver side of the vehicle. He is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a three-quarter sleeved red and white jersey, faded blue jeans and a red baseball cap.
