UPDATE: February 22nd, 4:45 PM: OCSO deputies have identified the victim who was shot at the fuel station at 12360 Apopka Vineland Road. It is Arthur Newton, 22 years.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded this morning at approximately 3:08am to a call of gunfire in the parking lot of the fuel station situated at 12360 Apopka Vineland Road. Upon arrival at the location deputies discovered evidence of a shooting. Thereafter another call arrived at the 911 center regarding a shooting victim at another fuel station close by at 12748 SR535. The shooting victim at this second location (fuel station) was related to the original call.
Deputies found a 22 year old black male at the scene who was the victim of a shooting and had succumbed to his injuries. Deputies cordoned off the area in order to conduct a death investigation/homicide to determine the circumstances leading to the victims condition.
Deputies are not not releasing the name or identity of victim until the next of kin has been notified.They are also saying that they have no significant details regarding what led up to the shooting. Homicide investigators have been called out to the scene and they have said that they do not believe that the shooting/altercation incident was a random act. All possible leads at being following. Based on witness information received at the scene, investigator’s are looking for a Red Honda as a suspect vehicle which fled the crime scene.

The OCSO Forensics Unit/Crime Scene technicians continue to work with investigators to recover evidence from both scenes.
