Man Sentenced in Shooting Death of 22-Year-Old at Orange County Burger King

A man has been sentenced in the shooting death case of a 22-year-old at an Orange County Burger King.




State Attorney Andrew Bain’s office announced that Kelvis Rodriguez, who was recently found guilty in the shooting death of 22-year-old Desmond Joshua at an Orange County Burger King in August 2020, has been sentenced.

Rodriguez was sentenced to 50 years in the Department of Corrections.

He was found guilty of manslaughter with a firearm (count 1), tampering with evidence (count 2), and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (count 3), according to the State Attorney’s office. He was sentenced to 30 years for count 1, 5 years for count 2, and another 15 years with 3 year minimum mandatory on count 3.
